One of my favorite weddings of 2017, Christina and Kyle had the most beautiful and sunny fall day. There was such a vibrant energy throughout the day and the color palette was just to die for, with rich burgundy and blush tones.
The reception was like one huge dance party, with some pretty strong Badger and Longhorn pride, some polka dancing, and glow sticks. Seriously, these guys did it right. Congrats again to K&C! It was awesome being a part of your day.

Katie and Justin wanted a wintery forest setting for their engagement session, and the weather and location couldn't have been any more perfect. I have wanted to shoot these trees since I first hear about them, and was so excited when Katie suggested it. To stay warm, they enjoyed some hot coffee in the middle of the session, which helped to combat the 14 degree temps.
Enjoy this winter wonderland enchanted forest session!
Jessica and Jarrod were both in previous weddings that we photographed, so naturally we were thrilled when they decided they wanted to work with us too (yay for referrals!). I was excited when they talked about a winter engagement session, and we all hoped for snow.
They started off by grabbing a drink at Milestone 229, significant because it was where they had dinner the night that Jarrod proposed (on the bridge pictured below). Even though it was like negative one million degrees, we still had some fun. And best of all - FRESH SNOW!
Can't wait the wedding!
When Kate first contacted me about photographing her family, I was so excited that she truly understood lifestyle photography. It's a hard concept for some people - invite me into your home but then try to pretend I'm not there. Typically for an in-home session I'll do a combination of posed, semi-posed, and purely lifestyle, which is exactly what we did here. This is the home Kate and he sister grew up in, and she wanted to make sure they captured as much as possible in case the family ever moves away. My favorite part: baking their traditional family cookie recipe. They even had the original copy of the recipe. Thanks guys for letting me into your home and sharing a glimpse of the love and memories you've shared there.
It's a good thing we're photographers because it's hard to find words to describe 2017. Personally and professionally it was a year of firsts and tremendous growth. Thanks so much to everyone who chose to work with us in 2017. I don't think we could have made it through such a crazy year without so many awesome new and returning clients, and we have some big changes coming in 2018.
Here are a few of our favorites from the past year, Enjoy!
Anne and Brandon were married in the late fall, on a chilly (windy!) day. If you haven't been to The Ivory Room, it has spectacular views of the city, located in the Miranova 2 building. Although we weren't really able take portraits outdoors due to the rain and wind, the lobby of the building provided a lot of natural light and open space for group photos. And after the ceremony right before the reception started, we snuck outside with the couple, under an umbrella and photographed the city in the background.
Of course the weather didn't matter at all once they said their vows and celebrated on the dance floor. Congratulations Anne & Brandon! Thanks for making us a part of your day.

It's always such a joy to photograph families in their home, especially after welcoming a new little one into the world. AND, even better when it's your own family. Welcome baby Luca! We all love you so much (especially your fur siblings).
One of the BEST parts about photographing families is watching them grow. I first met this little family a few years ago when I photographed them on a super cold day (quite possibly the first time Oliver saw snow). This year I had the pleasure of photographing their extended family, as well as just the three of them again (almost 4!) on a gorgeous fall day. Oliver isn't always the smiliest kid, but on this day he gave us some pretty good ones. :) Enjoy!
